Through HIS Eyes

You are not who the world says you are—you are who God says you are.

“I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.”

Psalm 139:14

DEVO:

One of the hardest things to recover after addiction, abuse, failure, or shame is your sense of worth. The world is quick to label us by our past, our weaknesses, or what we’ve done. But God doesn’t see us that way. He sees who He created us to be—and what He paid to redeem us.

When you look in the mirror, what do you see? Scars? Regret? Imperfection? God looks at you and sees His child, made in His image, washed clean by the blood of Jesus, chosen for a purpose that He has specifically planned just for you.

In Luke 15, Jesus tells the story of the prodigal son—a young man who lost everything and came crawling back to his father in shame. But the father didn’t see a failure; he saw his son. He ran to him, embraced him, and restored him to his rightful place. He didn't care about what he had done... he was overcome with love that he returned. That’s how God sees you. Not as damaged goods—but as deeply loved, fully forgiven, and completely valuable.

When God formed you, He did so with intention. You're not an accident. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. The enemy wants you to forget that—to see yourself as worthless, broken, or too far gone. But Jesus went to the cross to silence that lie forever.

Your value is not based on your performance. It’s based on your position—a beloved child of God.

Your worth isn’t found in what you’ve done. It’s found in what Jesus has done for you.
And that never changes.

You don’t need to find your self-worth in a relationship, success, appearance, or social approval. You need only to rediscover who you already are in Him.

TODAY'S GOAL:

Today, begin replacing the labels you’ve believed about yourself with the truth of God’s Word. Write down one lie you’ve carried and one truth that replaces it. Then look in the mirror and say out loud: “I am who The Great I AM says that I am.” Say it until your soul starts to believe it.

QUESTIONS FOR INTROSPECTION & JOURNALING:

  1. What false labels or beliefs about yourself have been hardest to shake?

  2. Where have you been looking for your worth rather than looking to Jesus —relationships, friends, family, success, appearance, performance, social media followers?

  3. How would your thoughts and actions change if you truly saw yourself the way God does?

  4. What scriptures can you meditate on daily to renew your view of your worth in Christ?

PRAYER:

Abba Father, I’ve allowed so many voices to tell me who I am—my past, my failures, my wounds. But today, I choose to listen to Your voice above all. Show me the truth of how You see me. Teach me to agree with Heaven about who I am. Heal the places in my heart that still believe the lie that I’m not enough. Thank You for calling me chosen, loved, and redeemed. I receive my worth—not from the world, but from You. In Jesus’ name, Amen
