No Turning Back
When Jesus steps in, the exit to your old life is sealed.

Key Verse:
“But Jesus said to him, ‘No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.’”
— Luke 9:62
Closing Prayer:
Abba Father, I’ve decided to follow You—and I’m not turning back. Even when the road is rough, I trust that what lies ahead is worth it. Remind me why I left the old life behind. Strengthen me when I’m tempted to return to what You’ve already rescued me from. I choose to keep my hand to the plow, eyes forward, and heart fully Yours. No turning back. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Reflection:
The road to freedom is forward. But the temptation to turn around can still whisper—especially when the journey gets hard. In moments of exhaustion, discouragement, or loneliness, it’s easy to romanticize the past or forget the pain it caused.
But Jesus calls us to a full surrender—a no turning back kind of faith. Like a farmer gripping the plow, we’re meant to keep our eyes ahead, focused on what God is planting, not what we left behind. The past may be familiar, but it was also destructive. Christ didn’t set you free so you could flirt with what once held you captive.
In recovery, this means no more half-in, half-out living. No more backup plans for relapse. No more entertaining old numbers, old places, or old lies. There’s too much purpose in front of you to keep glancing over your shoulder.
Jesus didn’t save you to stay stuck. He saved you to move forward in victory—and never look back.
Supporting Scriptures:
“Remember Lot’s wife.”
— Luke 17:32
“Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead…”
— Philippians 3:13
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
— 2 Corinthians 5:17
Coaching Questions for Journaling & Reflection:
What parts of my past still tempt me to look back or go back? Why?
How has God already proven that what He has ahead for me is better than what I left behind?
Am I still leaving a door open to relapse, sin, or compromise—mentally, emotionally, or physically?
What new habits, boundaries, or relationships are helping me stay forward-focused in this season of my life during recovery?
What declaration can I make today, to God and to myself, that affirms my commitment to keep going—no turning back?
