Held and Healed
Before He healed your wounds, He held your heart.

Key Verse:
"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."
— Psalm 147:3
Reflection:
Some wounds cut down to the bone. There are hurts that don’t show up on scans or leave visible scars; however, they still bleed. Pain from betrayal, trauma, abandonment, or addiction cuts that deep as does grief that lingers long after the funeral and shame that clings even after forgiveness.
With all this considered, before your healing ever began—you were held by Jesus.
Jesus never waited for you to “get better” to love you. He didn’t flinch at your brokenness or reject your mess. He drew near to you. Like a gentle Shepherd, Jesus lifted you. Like a loving Father, He carried you. And like the Great Physician, He began to heal you... layer by layer, lie by lie, scar by scar.
Healing takes place over time. Just understand that being held by Jesus is immediate. You don’t have to have it all together to be in His arms. You just have to lean in by following Him.
So if you're not fully healed yet, that’s okay. You’re still held, and in His hands, healing is not a possibility.... healing is inevitable.
Supporting Scriptures:
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
— Isaiah 41:10
"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit.”
— Psalm 34:18
“Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”
— 1 Peter 5:7
Coaching Questions for Journaling & Reflection:
What wound in my life still needs healing.
Have I truly surrendered the wound above (in question 1) to Jesus?
How has God held me in the moments I felt most broken or alone?
What would it look like today to rest in His arms rather than run from my pain?
How am I trying to “heal myself” instead of letting God tend to the deepest parts of me?
Who do I know that needs the reminder that Jesus holds and heals even the most shattered, fragile hearts?
Closing Prayer:
Abba Father, thank You that You didn’t wait for me to be whole to hold me. You met me in the pain, You stayed in the mess, and You began to heal what I couldn’t fix. Help me rest in Your arms even as You do the deeper work in my heart. I trust You to bring full healing—in Your time and Your way. In Jesus' holy name, Amen.
