Celebrating Milestones with Faith, Not Coins
God's measure of progress isn't a token—it's a transformed heart.

“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
Philippians 1:6
DEVO:
In the world of recovery, it’s common to mark milestones with medallions or coins—tokens of how long someone has remained sober. While these can serve as positive reminders of endurance, they are not the ultimate symbol of transformation. Those tokens/coins can't and don't keep you sober. God doesn’t hand out coins. He crafts character. He renews. He restores. He creates a new you. His reward is not in metal or months, but in hearts that beat for Him.
When we walk with Christ, every step forward—whether quiet obedience or tearful surrender—is a milestone worth celebrating. The true evidence of progress is not how many days we've stayed clean, but how deeply we’ve come to trust the Lord. He sees the private victories: the night you said no to temptation, the morning you chose prayer over panic, the hour you reached for His Word instead of a weapon of your past.
Milestones in the Kingdom are often invisible to the world but fully seen by the Father. Every moment you choose faith over fear, humility over pride, or holiness over habit, Heaven rejoices. That’s the kind of celebration that matters.
Coins may rust or get lost... but a life changed by Christ shines forever.
SCRIPTURES FOR MEDITATION:
2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
Galatians 6:9
“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”
1 Samuel 16:7
“For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
Matthew 6:4
“…and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.”
TODAY'S GOAL
Take a moment today to thank God for one internal milestone—something unseen by others but deeply significant in your walk with Him. Celebrate that with praise, not applause.
QUESTIONS FOR INTROSPECTION & JOURNALING
What is one way I’ve grown spiritually that might not be visible to others?
In what ways am I more focused on external recognition than internal transformation?
What does God say about my progress that the world might overlook?
How can I make it a habit to celebrate God's work in me, even in the small things?
PRAYER:
Abba Father,
Thank You for seeing every step of my journey and watching over me. Help me not to crave worldly tokens or worldly recognition, but to find joy in the quiet work You are doing in my soul. Teach me to measure progress by Your standards, not man’s. Let every milestone point to You and not to me. Strengthen my heart for the road ahead, and remind me that You are completing a beautiful work in me—one moment, one prayer, one breakthrough at a time.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
