Does Jesus Really Love Everyone?

Even if He never said the words, His cross says it all.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

John 3:16

DEVO

It’s a question many silently wrestle with: Does Jesus really love everyone? Especially after failure, addiction, shame, or rejection—some wonder if maybe they’re the exception to His love.

Interestingly, Jesus never said the exact words, “I love everyone.” But He didn’t need to. His life, His actions, and His death on the cross proclaim it louder than any spoken phrase.

He healed the outcast leper, dined with tax collectors, talked with the despised Samaritan woman, and forgave the woman caught in adultery. He extended compassion to Gentiles, Roman soldiers, children, and beggars. His love crossed every barrier—race, religion, gender, sin, and shame.

When Jesus commanded us to love our enemies, He wasn't setting a double standard. He was modeling His own heart—loving even those who crucified Him. On the cross, He prayed, “Father, forgive them.” That’s not selective love. That’s divine, unstoppable, all-inclusive love.

He died for sinners, not saints. That means everyone caught in the trap of addiction, every broken person, every prodigal child, and yes—you. The question isn’t whether Jesus loves everyone. The real question is: Will you receive the love He already shown you?

SCRIPTURES FOR MEDITATION:

  • Romans 5:8 – “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

  • Matthew 5:44 – “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you…”

  • Luke 19:10 – “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

  • 1 John 4:9-10 – “In this the love of God was manifested toward us… not that we loved God, but that He loved us…”

TODAY'S GOAL:

Reject the lie that you are unlovable. Sit with the truth that Jesus' life and death prove His love is already extended to you—and everyone. Accept it, walk in it, and share it.

INTROSPECTION & JOURNALING:

  1. Do I truly believe Jesus loves me, even at my worst?

  2. When have I ever felt like the exception to His love?

  3. What moments in Jesus’ life demonstrate His love for the overlooked and outcast?

  4. How does knowing Jesus loves everyone change how I treat others?

  5. What would my life look like if I lived completely convinced of His love?

PRAYER:

Abba Father, thank You that even though You never said “I love everyone,” You showed it with every step You took and every soul You touched. Thank You for loving me even when I didn’t love You back. Help me to rest in that truth today, and to share that same love with others. In Jesus' name, Amen.
