The Power of Perseverance

You can keep going.

"Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him."

James 1:12

DEVO

There are moments in life when quitting feels easier than continuing. When the pressure builds. When prayers seem unanswered. When you're misunderstood, mocked, or just plain weary.

But the Bible never says the righteous will have it easy—it says they will endure.
Perseverance is not passive. It’s active. It’s not just hanging on by a thread—it’s pressing forward even when you’re limping.

Hebrews 10:36 (NKJV) says:
"For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise."

The promise comes after the perseverance—not before. In Christ, perseverance isn’t pointless; it’s productive.

And what is being produced?

Romans 5:3-4 (NKJV)

"And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope."

When you’re walking through hardship, every faithful step builds character. Every time you refuse to compromise, you strengthen your spiritual muscles. Every time you hold on to hope, even when your heart aches, you proclaim to heaven and hell that your faith is real.

Galatians 6:9 (NKJV) tells us:

"And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart."

You may not see the harvest or the finish line today, but it is coming. Perseverance is the bridge between the planting and the reaping... the start and the big finish. Don’t burn that bridge with impatience or bitterness. Keep walking—step by step, tear by tear, prayer by prayer.

2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (NKJV)

"We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed."

Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)

"But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint."

Matthew 24:13 (NKJV)

"But he who endures to the end shall be saved."

Philippians 3:13-14 (NKJV)

"Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."
