It Ends With me

When Jesus steps in, the cycle stops and new life begins.

“Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”
John 8:36

Reflection:

You may have inherited pain. You may have walked through abuse, addiction, abandonment, or dysfunction. But just because it started before you, doesn’t mean it has to continue through you.

This is where it ends. With you.

When Jesus comes into a life, He doesn’t just patch up the damage—He makes all things new. But breakthrough is not just a one-time event. It’s a daily choice to surrender, to obey, to walk away from the old and into the new. The Holy Spirit takes over... you don't have to do it on your own at all.

Freedom doesn’t always come in dramatic moments. Sometimes it’s in the quiet decision to pray instead of use… to speak life instead of repeat the curse… to forgive when bitterness would be easier… to keep showing up when quitting is all you’ve ever known.

Your past may explain you, but it doesn’t define you. You are a child of God, and with Him, daily breakthroughs become possible. Every single day, you can declare in faith: It ends with me.

Supporting Scriptures:

“Do not remember the former things,
Nor consider the things of old.
Behold, I will do a new thing,
Now it shall spring forth…”

Isaiah 43:18–19a

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…”
Romans 12:2a

“I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:14

Coaching Questions for Journaling & Reflection:

  1. What is one unhealthy or sinful cycle that I feel God calling me to break that will stop with me right now?

  2. What is one breakthrough I've experienced, and what choice or mindset helped make it possible?

  3. What voices from my past (or present) still try to keep me in chains? What does God say instead?

  4. In what ways am I trying to break through in my own strength rather than relying on the power of Jesus Christ in me?

  5. What daily decision can I make today that aligns with who I am in Christ—not who I used to be?

  6. Who needs to see my daily breakthrough to know that freedom is possible for them too?

Closing Prayer:

Abba Father... thank You that I do not have to repeat what broke me. Thank You that in Christ, the curse ends and new life begins. Today, I choose to walk in daily breakthroughs from You. Even when it’s hard, even when I feel weak, I know I'm strong in You, so I declare: it ends with me. I belong to You, and I trust You to keep setting me free, one step, one choice, one day at a time. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
