His Word Is Healing to Your Flesh

“My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.”

DEVO:

In the midst of recovery, pain, or chronic illness, the worldly powers that be make it so easy to look everywhere and anywhere for relief, through medications, routines, people, or even distractions. Permit Proverbs to reminds you of a truth we often forget: God’s Word itself carries healing power.

This is not a metaphorical healing. This is very literal. The Hebrew word used here for health can be translated as medicine, cure, or remedy. God's Word is living and active—it goes beyond what we can see, piercing even to the soul, body, and spirit. When you immerse yourself in Scripture, you're not just reading—you’re taking in a supernatural remedy.

Just as you wouldn't skip taking prescribed medicine during an illness, don’t skip God’s Word during your healing journey and for the rest of your life. Whether you’re recovering from addiction, emotional trauma, or physical ailments, the Word of God is a healing balm that restores from the inside out.

TODAY'S GOAL:

Soak in the healing Word of God as though it was medicine - because it IS. Read it slowly. Speak it aloud. Let it dwell richly in your heart. Write out a healing verse and carry it with you. Believe! Your faith WILL make you whole.

• How have I neglected reading God’s Word in seasons of pain or sickness?

PRAYER:

Abba Father, I believe Your Word brings life and healing to every part of me—mind, body, soul, and spirit. Help me to treasure it, meditate on it, and trust in its power to restore me. Let me not depend on the world’s solutions more than I depend on You. I receive Your Word as health to all my flesh, and I praise You for Your healing touch. In Jesus' name, Amen.
